Find Yourself This Christmas

The holiday season, while filled with joy and anticipation, can easily become a whirlwind of activity for leaders. Meetings, deadlines, and the pressure to "do it all" can quickly overshadow the true meaning of Christmas. This year, make a conscious effort to break free from the busyness and rediscover the peace and wonder of the season. Find yourself in the meaning of Christmas.

Here are 5 ways to help you:

1. Embrace Solitude:

In the midst of the chaos, carve out dedicated time for solitude and reflection. Find a quiet space, free from distractions, and simply be.

  • "Be still, and know that I am God." - Psalm 46:10

2. Practice Gratitude:

Take time each day to consciously acknowledge and appreciate the blessings in your life. A gratitude journal can be a powerful tool for cultivating a spirit of thankfulness.

  • "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." - 1 Thessalonians 5:18

3. Engage in Acts of Service:

Focus on serving others, whether it's volunteering at a local shelter, donating to a worthy cause, or simply offering a helping hand to a friend or family member.

  • "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me." - Matthew 25:35-36

4. Read and Meditate on the Christmas Story:

Spend time reading and reflecting on the biblical accounts of Jesus' birth. Allow the stories of hope, humility, and love to sink deeply into your heart.

  • "But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.'" - Luke 2:10-11

5. Prioritize Family Time:

Make time for meaningful connections with loved ones. Share stories, play games, and simply enjoy each other's company.

  • "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." - Proverbs 22:6

By intentionally incorporating these practices into your holiday season, you can navigate the busyness with greater peace and rediscover the true meaning of Christmas – a season of hope, joy, and love. Rediscover God’s will for your leadership.
